An exceptional pair of Regency period Pollard oak and marquetry-inlaid foldover card tables, executed after a design by the celebrated cabinet maker George Bullock. Of elegant D-shaped form, each table is finely inlaid with fleur-de-lys motifs to the corners and opens to reveal a green baize-lined playing surface.

The breakfront frieze is supported on a bold central column raised on an octagonal moulded socle, terminating in a finely carved quadripartite base with acanthus-scrolled toes and the original brass castors.

The striking Pollard oak veneers display exceptional colour and figure, complemented by crisp marquetry decoration throughout.

Provenance: Ackworth Lodge, Ackworth, Pontefract.

PRICE: £10,800
