A fine George II period carved mahogany Gainsborough chair, of elegant and well-proportioned form. Upholstered in an antique yellow linen with padded arms, supported on swept moulded uprights. The chair is raised on finely carved cabriole legs, each with foliate and scroll-carved knees and terminating in scrolled toes terminating on brass castors
The mahogany has a particularly attractive colour and patination..
