A MAHOGANY-FRAMED LEATHER LIBRARY ARMCHAIR, IN THE MANNER OF GILLOWS

A fine early 19th-century mahogany-framed library armchair, in the manner of Gillows, upholstered in beautifully worn brown leather and retaining a wonderfully mellow surface.

The close-nailed leather upholstery encloses two buttoned squab cushions above a leather-covered seat rail. The chair is raised on elegant turned and reeded tapering legs, terminating in brass-capped toes and original brass castors.

Note, Of particularly lovely scale and elegant proportions, the chair has an exceptionally attractive, richly patinated brown leather upholstery which gives it considerable character and warmth.
