A GEORGE II GILT GESSO PIER MIRROR

English, circa 1740.

A superb George II gilt gesso pier mirror of rectilinear form with the original bevelled plate held within a carved giltwood frame surmounted by a broken swan neck pediment, flanking a central carved cartouche. The base of serpentine form.

Note, A wonderful original 18th century mirror retaining the original gilding, backboards, and mirror plate.
